An emotional quickie
The games ambiance is superb. From the graphics to the audio, the styling creates a wonderful, retro mood reminiscent of the first Vampire Hunter D movie. The controls work great and the writing and story are truly excellent.
However, it lacks depth, which would have made it truly astounding. The weapons dont differ greatly enough. The 3 classes seems a somewhat cheap way of giving them some disparity, but its just not enough. The fast weapons lack power while the heavy ones lack speed. Rounded out by a balanced series. Thats all you get. Each having their own unique ability is great but they need more. Once you get them all, then it becomes repetitive and quite 2-dimensional.
Leveling weapons, acquiring unique armor or items, even accumulating bonuses to beef up the king, or perhaps character leveling would have turned this from an emotional quickie into a sensual all-nighter. Essentially it needs to get the user to work towards something. Timing attacks on enemies delivered by the interval just isnt enough.
A great game that just falls a little short. And for what its worth, I cannot connect to loreseeker, to which I actually have no idea what it does. All I know is Ive given up my location to these guys for nothing.
